What I’ve Been Up To, Cristina Ferrare.

catching up with Cristina ferrare Hello everyone!!!!

I’ve received many inquiries regarding my absence from Facebook and Instagram. I want to ensure everyone that I’m am alive and healthy, lol! Thank you all for your concern.

I am coming up on my first-year anniversary from stem cell replacement on May 4th. So far so good I am still in remission and getting to a place where I’m starting to feel normal again.

It’s been an interesting journey for sure these past two years but so much good has come from it and I feel so blessed and grateful for it all. I’ve met wonderful new friends on this journey with cancer that has changed my life forever. A story for another time.

I turned in “Food for Thought”, my latest cookbook last week. A work pure love and joy that took me over two years to complete. I had some interruptions along the way. (lol) I honestly don’t think I would have made it through without the love and support from my family, friends and all of you who encouraged me to keep going, thank you for that!

Tony and I pressed the “send” button together to the publishers in New York but not before we sent up a little prayer. When I heard the swish, which indicated it had been sent, I felt something leave my body, it was oddly freeing. I sat down to take a breath and immediately turned to Tony and said, I need to stop all the noises, the news, e-mails, checking my social media, kids and their lives and worrying all the time even though they are all fine. I needed to concentrate on finding me again, before being fired from Home and Family, diagnoses of cancer, and my momma passing, all in the same year.

So, I did. I also develop writer’s block and just couldn’t put words to paper. I knew it would come back and so here I am.

I am so happy to be back and to continue working with Maria Shriver and WAM, Women’s Alzheimer’s Movement as well as the  Multiple Myeloma Foundation to bring you the latest findings. I’m also busy creating  new recipes to share with you now that the book is out of the way and updating my website here, cristinaferrarecooks.com

One of the things I discovered while doing research on gut health and healthy eating was how cancer has infiltrated the pet world. So many of our friends have lost their beloved pets to this hideous disease.

There are 65 million dogs and 32 million cats in the United States. 6 million new cancer diagnoses are made in dogs and a similar number made in cats each year. Why is this happening? I’m sure what we are feeding them has something to do with it. Well, I’m on the case and of course on the warpath.

I thought I would start my coming back on Facebook and Instagram with a question and answer article that my dear friend Dr. JJ Levenstein wrote on her recently launched a website.
